This November sees Parkvets proudly supporting MSD Animal Health’s' Pet Diabetes Month. Pet
Diabetes Month is a nationwide campaign aiming to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of dog and cat diabetes as well as encouraging dog and cat owners to test their pets for diabetes.
Luckily, diabetes can usually be easily diagnosed using a simple urine test which you can pick up at your local Parkvets clinic. You can also see if your pet is at a higher risk of being diagnosed with diabetes by using the 'Pet Diabetes Month' online assessment. Alternatively, you can book a nurse clinic for more information or call 020 8300 8111.
What's so special about Parkvets? People.
Graham Peck simply knew he wanted to be a vet from a very, very early age. As a child he spent more of his free time with animals than with people and worked like a dog (excuse the pun) to get his grades for vet school.
Once there he became known as the guy who would always drive on a night out as he was determined not to jeopardise his veterinary future through over indulgence. His focus paid off and after achieving top marks he started his career as a vet.
He'll tell you that things were a bit different 'back in the day' but his early career left him in no doubt that veterinary care could be a lot better. So he set out to prove it and Parkvets is the evidence that he was right.
After putting his house on the line he took over a practice is Chislehurst and, along with his wife Juliette - a like minded vet - built a practice based on true excellence.
He still works in the practice, albeit less than he used to, and still surrounds himself with a menagerie of horses, sheep, chicken, dogs and cats at home.

Did you know 1 in 3 pets require unexpected veterinary treatment each year? Whilst advances in veterinary medicine mean we can do more for your pet, treatment costs can soon mount up. We recommend Petplan insurance to all our clients to help cover unexpected vets bills. You may be surprised to hear that you are more likely to claim on your pet insurance than your car or household policies (from Allianz Insurance plc). In fact, in our experience if you are one of the few people who don’t need to claim on your pet insurance you really are very lucky indeed! It’s important to be aware that not all pet insurance is the same. Some policies limit the amount of time or money that you can claim for so don’t just shop around on price alone.
