Biography

I graduated in 2002 after 6 years of an unforgettable student life at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. I immediately prepared to move to England, as I heard the English were the world's greatest 'pet-lovers' - what better job satisfaction could a vet ask for!

I spent 2 years working in the fens. I then did a short stint in lovely Ipswich before completing a very rewarding sixth month internship at a cancer referral centre in Essex.

I joined Parkvets in May 2006, and am happy to say I have since settled comfortably in my position at the hospital, welcomed by a wonderfully caring and friendly staff. Over the years, I have developed a keen interest in Medicine, especially Endocrinology (the study of glands - like the pancreas) and hope to further my education in this field.

As much as I am compassionate about animals, I spend a lot of my free time playing tennis (definitely indoor in the UK!) and enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle in the summer (I take to the gym in winter). With my husband (he is a vet as well) being a food connoisseur, we spend a good deal of our time in the kitchen creating and consuming all sorts of foods.

We don't have any pets, due to our busy lifestyles, but do baby-sit many stray cats whilst good homes are being found for them, which completely satisfies our 'pet' needs for the interim.
