Biography

Kirsty is a native of the great northern county of Yorkshire. It was in these rolling vales, (the land of 'erriot no less) that she decided she wanted to be a vet at the tender age of seven!

Having achieved her ambition of going to vet school, Kirsty developed an interest in surgery and since graduation in 1999 she has continued to develop this interest.

Kirsty's first job was working for the RSPCA in Middlesbrough, a gritty first role that quickly allowed her to develop her fledgling skills. But it wasn't long until she defected South to Parkvets in pursuit of her would be husband Andy who had begun work in the area with a different practice.

Her first role at Parkvets was as a locum. Success in this role quickly brought up a promotion to a branch vet role at Belvedere. From there she transferred to the hospital and now, after much hard work, she is the director of the Parkvets Hospital. One of Kirsty's key achievements is in maintaining the RCVS Tier 3 and the BVHA status for the hospital. Such status is an assurance that pet's visiting our hospital are being cared for in one of the best facilities that Britain can offer.

Kirsty remains especially interested in surgery and has undergone much advanced training in this area and now performs soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery to a highly advanced level.

In Kirsty and Andy's spare time (yes her pursuit south was fruitful - they did get married!) they like to go hill walking, scrambling and climbing. They have two furry child-substitutes - one terrier and a lurcher. They also enjoy gardening and cooking (especially cooking the contents of the garden!).
