Biography
From a small child I loved animals, and was fascinated by medicine and biology. My only problem was choosing which species to practice on: humans or our non-human counterparts! At the age of seven, the whole thought of emptying anal glands (I have since discovered that stomach tubing horses is far worse!) put me firmly in the "human camp", but after weeks of fascinating work experience, in both fields, in my teens, I finally settled on veterinary medicine. I studied at the Royal Veterinary College in London and quickly discovered my fascination for medical cases such as Diabetes Mellitus and thyoid disease, and I have followed this up, post qualification, by completing 3 years of modular courses in feline and canine medicine.
Away from work, I am a passionate traveller and photographer. I thrive on discovering (and photographing) the diversity and beauty of our world. When I am not further afield I love nothing more than a walk in the countryside (or a week skiing!) though always with my camera by my side!
In order to spend a few weeks travelling each year I have worked as veterinary locum for the last two years in order to acheive greater working flexibility. Through this I have experienced working in many practices, and I am therefore delighted to be settled at Park Vets where the facilities and dedication of the staff are fantastic.
