Biography

Kat wanted to be a veterinary nurse since the age of 7.  She was able to attend our Swanley branch for work experience at college and then became a trainee nurse at the Footscray hospital in 2002. After completing her nurse training she qualified in 2006 and is now a senior nurse, with responsibilities including nurse clinics and guiding the nursing team.

Since 2004 Kat has assisted in and now runs Parkvets' puppy classes which in turn has led to her interest in companion animal behaviour. She completed a behaviour diploma in 2008 and recently set up Parkvets' dog training classes and other training services.

"I have a passion for helping clients with behaviour problems big or small and aim for everyone to have happy pets," says Kat.  "I enjoy animal husbandry and have kept a variety of pets including sugar gliders, fish, a cat and dogs. My own dog Cookie, who I rescued as a stray, has been brilliant to improve my training skills - I have taught him over 15 commands which he responds to on cue."
