Back to Services List
Parkvets Vet Hospital is a first opinion practice but veterinary expertise within the practice and investment in advanced facilities and equipment mean that we are able to offer many services to a referral level.
We do not advertise ourselves as referral specialists as we simply offer this extra service as and when it is needed to our clients. We are however happy to offer this referral level service to clients of other local practices if their vets feel it is appropriate.
In cases such as this we might be able to help. If you are a vet or a client with a pet in this situation then we can offer expertise in the following areas:
- Neurology or spinal surgery - We can offer MRI, myelography, spinal surgery and 24hr nursing support.
- Orthopaedics - AO/ASIF, TPLO and complex fracture fixation.
- Soft tissue surgery - aural, gastro-intestinal, urogenital surgery. This list is not exhaustive.
- Diagnostic imaging - Parkvets has a resident diploma holder in Diagnostic Imaging. We can offer ultrasound, ECG, X-rays, MRI and endoscopy.
- Ophthalmology - Corneal and eyelid surgery, ulcer management, glaucoma.
- Dentistry - Complicated extractions, X-rays. (We do not do endodontics or orthodontics).
- Internal Medicine - from chronic vomiting, drinking, weight loss. Our medics can help.
- Dermatology - Intra-dermal skin testing, blood testing for allergies.
We charge the same fees for workups and investigations to your clients and we do our own. A small referral fee is chargeable in some cases.
How Involved? - You Decide
We can handle part of a work up, all of the work up or just some advice on the phone - call us. Full reports are provided for referring vets.
As a courtesy to referring vets we will not treat 1st opinion problems in referral cases. For normal treatment (vaccines, etc) you should return to your normal vet.
If you have a pet you wish to get referred we recommend you discuss it you're your vet so you arrive at the best decision together.
Parkvets wish to work in partnership with other local practices for the benefit of all the animals under our care. Call us to discuss how we can help you.
