Microchipping Pets

Microchip your Pet Against Loss!

Every year the Dog Wardens and RSPCA pick up thousands of lost pets. However reuniting these pets with their owners can prove very difficult since many of them cannot be reliably identified. This is obviously very distressing for both pets and their owners.

Improving the Situation?

In addition to the traditional collar and engraved tag - which can unfortunately become detached and lost - there is now a far more reliable form of pet identification. A microchip implant which is a simple and permanent form of identification.

A tiny microchip about the size of a grain of rice is quickly and easily injected under the skin permanently identifying your pet. Implantation is no more stressful than a routine vaccination. Each microchip contains a unique ID Code. This code, together with details about your pet are held on a central computer.

Veterinary practices, the police and pet rescue organisation have special hand held scanners that can detect and read the information on the microchip so that your pet can be identified and reunited with you without delay.

Don't take the chance - get your pet microchipped now and avoid the heart ache of pet loss. Have your pet fitted with a tracer microchip during April 2008 and receive a 10% dsicount on price. That means you'll pay less than £20. Not bad for a lifetime free of worry about finding your loved pet if it escapes or gets stolen.

Call today to book a microchip appointment. Find details for your nearest Parkvets branch by clicking here now.

Lost Your Pet?

We suggest that you first call all the local veterinary practices in the immediate area since this is usually where they come first. Other places to try include the local council who will be able to put you in touch with the dog warden (in the case of dogs). Occasionally the local police may have a a report of a found pet. Failing that you could try Battersea Dog and Cat Home, your local NCDL, Cats Protection League or RSPCA.

Don't Forget!

A dog must be identified by law with a tag giving a contact number even if it is microchipped.
