Royal Mail Postal Strike
Updated 08.10.07

Having taken steps to reduce the likelihood of disruption by the current postal strike we still think it is worth reading this article to see if the services we normally deliver for your pets may be affected.
1. Lab samples - we have arranged for a daily courier to collect the samples from the Parkvets Hospital each day. And as we get our results via email there should be no significant delay in reporting the results of any tests we may have run on your pet recently.
2. Vaccination and wormer reminders - we will send these out as normal and do so at the end of each month so you ought to have received your reminder as normal and we don't expect any disruption. That said it would be prudent just to check your pet's vaccination and worming records to check.
3. Export health certificates - if you are waiting for a health certificate or are due to travel abroad imminently then we strongly suggest you call DEFRA to check the status of your documents on 0870 241 1710.
4. Payments - as we no longer accept payment by cheque the postal strike should not affect this at all. If you have an outstanding account with us you can settle using a credit/debit card over the telephone.
5. General correspondence - will obviously be affected we would ask for urgent enquires to be called in by telephone or emailed to info@parkvets.com. Clearly outgoing mail will be affected as well.
While we feel we have taken sufficient steps to minimise the disruption, who knows how many more of these strikes will be called and at what notice, plus it is reasonable to assume that there will be a backlog of mail. The usual chaos this brings may cause unforeseen problems so we ask for your patience until the current industrial action is resolved.
