Biography

Alexa recently joined Parkvets after working in a big practice in Suffolk and graduating as a vet from Bristol University, where she also got a first class honours degree in Animal Behaviour.

Alexa believes that many people don’t realise quite how much their pets’ behaviour can be modified with the right help and commitment. So if you have any behavioural questions or ‘problems’ (from aggression to sound phobias; separation-related disorders to inappropriate urination), please do ask for a consult with Alexa.

The way your pet behaves in certain situations can really affect your relationship with them, and as a vet Alexa's goal is to make that relationship as healthy as possible for everyone involved.

Alexa is also really interested in internal medicine, including medicine for rabbits and guinea-pigs as well as for all the dogs and cats out there. Alexa is working to expand our website’s ‘disease library’and would welcome any topic suggestions from owners.

It is important to her that owners understand what is explained in the consult and why their pet is ill but sees that often the barrage of information can be a little overwhelming. Always ask her if you are unclear on anything or would like some more information.

Alexa currently have just the one cat - a little, stray, tail-less kitten she acquired called ‘Scamp’, who Alexa thinks is secretly quite pleased that her guinea-pigs and Dobermann have recently passed on so she can have all the attention!

Alexa loves baking and making chocolates, doing yoga, playing the piano and singing. And will start going to the gym again, just as soon as we give her some time…
