Well Pet Services
Pets do get poorly but much of our work is aimed at trying to keep pets well.
Well Pet Services
We offer an extensive range of products and services, each with one thing in common. They will enhance your pet's quality of life. Below is a brief review of these services.
Preventative Pet Healthcare
Vaccinations have been one of the great triumphs in veterinary medicine. Many once common, deadly and highly infectious diseases (like, parvovirus, distemper and feline leukamia) have almost been eliminated where vaccination rates are high. If you do one thing only for your dog, cat or rabbit, then vaccination would be it.
Parasite Prevention - Responsible parasite treatment eliminates risks for your pet and people. The modern treatments we use offer an unbeatable combination of effectiveness, convenience and affordability. Choosing the right one for your pet is as easy as one-two-three with our parasite planning service.

Nutritional Advice - We are what we eat, and one cannot stress enough how important the right diet is. At Parkvets we recommend and stock the Hill's pet food range, this is one of the pet foods we feel offers fantastic value and taste without compromising quality.
Health Assessments
Just as more and more people are getting proactive about their own healthcare, so it is with pets. Parkvets offer the following life stage health checkups for your pet.
1. Puppy Health Check-ups - to make sure the new member of your family gets off to the best start possible.
2. Annual Health Check-ups - We recommend your pet sees the vet at least once every year.
3. Senior Health Check-ups - Kidney disease, arthritis and dental problems are only some of the conditions that can affect a pet as it ages. At Parkvets we offer a full health check plus blood and urine tests to spot problems early.
Breeding Services
For responsible breeders we can offer a variety of options:
- Premate testing - to help time your visit to the stud dog better.
- Pregnancy diagnosis - blood tests or ultrasound is used.
- Kennel Club Hip and Elbow Scores.
- 24/7 emergency service in case a Caesarian section is required.
- Whelping/Kittening advice.
Pet Travel
As people travel abroad frequently so pet passports are becoming more and more common. Parkvets have several government registered vets (LVIs) who can arrange your passport, export licences and give you advice on your pet's health whilst abroad.

Identification - Microchips and Tags
We recommend identification of your pet, preferably with a microchip the size of a rice grain implanted under the skin between the shoulder blades. This increases the chances of getting your pet back in the event of a road accident or it gets lost and is collected by the dog warden.
We also stock the Biotherm range of chips which can read your pet's body temperature without the need for a thermometer!!!
Nurse Clinics
Nurses are a vital part of our team. Our nurse clinics are staffed by qualified VNs (Vet Nurses) who can offer a range of services:
- Post operative wound check ups for minor operations
- Nail clipping*
- Anal gland emptying*
- Diabetic management training*
- Dental assessments
- Dressing changes (materials charged for).
- Nutritional advice and diet clinics
*Indicates a chargeable service - the rest are free.
Pet Insurance
We strongly recommend pet insurance. At Parkvets we pride ourselves on delivering a fantastic level of pet and customer care, but realistically if it a serious problem there will be a significant cost. Insurance can be a godsend under these circumstances.
Because of this we always recommend pet insurance to our clients. Our insurance Partner is Petplan. They can provide an excellent "cover for life" policy plus they give great customer service as well.
